Former NBA star Lamar Odom has claimed that the late Kobe Bryant visited him in a dream and revealed a chilling warning to him about the afterlife.
The two-time NBA champion, who shared a locker room with Bryant during their time at the LA Lakers, revealed the encounter while on the Double Coverage podcast.
Odom, 46, who has been open about his personal battles with recovery, shared that the ‘Mamba’ continues to appear in his dreams years after his passing.
According to the retired forward, the dream involved the two former teammates playing basketball together, before Bryant issued a cryptic message.
‘He said something to me [that] I’ll never forget: ‘The afterlife ain’t what people make it up to be.”
The revelation left the former Sixth Man of the Year visibly shaken, as he stated the encounter was incredibly vivid and has forced him to reflect.

‘I didn’t know how to take that,’ he admitted, speaking on the experience that has continued to puzzle him.
He has suggested several possibilities for the message, including the idea that Bryant may have been expressing a longing for the life he left behind.
Bryant passed away on January 26, 2020, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna following a horrifying helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.
Last month, meanwhile, the Daily Mail confirmed that Odom had checked out of rehab in Los Angeles after completing a 30-day treatment program.
The 46-year-old New York native recently entered the program at iRely Recovery following a DUI arrest.
Odom insisted that neither alcohol nor narcotics contributed to his arrest, but police say his car smelled of marijuana and he admitted to smoking earlier that day. He was detained on suspicion of DUI and a count of driving more than 100mph.
His manager, Gina Rodriguez, told TMZ he is trying to shake his marijuana use over concerns it could lead him back to harder drugs.
Odom discussed his problem with drugs during a recent podcast interview with retired NBA stars and distant cousins, Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady.
Odom explained: ‘He said something to me [that] I’ll never forget: ‘The afterlife ain’t what people make it up to be.”
Odom was previously married to Khloe Kardashian from 2009 until late 2016
‘Where do you think you went off [the] rails with your decision making?’ McGrady asked Odom on a recent episode of ‘Cousins.’
Odom told the All-Star hosts his issues began with marijuana at age 14, which is shortly after his mother died.
Bryant, meanwhile, was back in the headlines recently after Heat star Bam Adebayo surpassed his stunning 81-point game – by scoring 83 points against the Wizards.
The 83-point masterclass shattered the previous Miami Heat franchise record of 61 points, which was set by LeBron James against the Charlotte Bobcats in 2014.
Adebayo exited the game to a standing ovation with just over one minute remaining, having officially passed his basketball idol, Bryant, with a pair of late free throws.
