The verdict is in on the UK’s 2026 Eurovision entrant Look Mum No Computer – and while everyone seems to agree the performance was “bonkers”, fans are divided on whether that’s a good thing or not.

The musician and content creator, whose real name is Sam Battle, took to the stage to perform “Eins, Zwei, Drei” at the second semi-final in Vienna, Austria, on Thursday (14 May) night.

Thankfully, as one of the so-called ‘Big Four’ countries, whose broadcasters make the biggest financial contribution to Eurovision, the UK qualifies for the final automatically.

But there was still pride to play for, and the catchy number certainly caused a stir online.

Some of the more damning verdicts included: “Every time you think the UK has sent its worst entry, they somehow surprise you and send something worse, I’m crying.”

“Not the UK having some of the most chaotic staging I’ve ever seen at #Eurovision,” wrote another fan. “What the HELL just happened?”

It wasn’t all bad, though. “I’m sorry but you’re all sleeping on the UK,” one X user said. “It’s bonkers and b****y brilliant!”

“Truly the craziest concept for a performance we’ve maybe ever sent? Got me feeling okay dokey,” a second confessed, in a nod to the admittedly incredibly hummable lyrics.

And giving a comprehensive review, a final Eurovision fan wrote: “I thought the UK #Eurovision staging was brilliant. It’s not a radio-friendly song, but it sticks in your head because it’s so catchy.

“It’s bonkers, but I like the fact we’ve tried something wacky [and] different because the last few ‘radio friendly’ songs didn’t land us points.”

The second semi-final also included performances from the UK’s fellow automatic qualifiers France and Austria, with the latter going through automatically as they’re on hosting duties this year.

Australia’s entry, former Neighbours star Delta Goodrem, was among those who made it through thanks to the vote, along with fellow fan favourite Daniel Žižka, representing Czechia.

The Eurovision Song Contest final takes place on Saturday at 8pm UK time and will be broadcast on BBC One.
