SNL comedian Marcello Hernandez poked fun at Tiger Woods and Bill Belichick among many others in a savage monologue at the ESPY Awards on Wednesday night.
Hernandez took to the stage in New York with hundreds of sports stars and celebrities in the crowd, and he didn’t hold back in a brutal speech reminiscent of Shane Gillis’ 2025 version.
His most ruthless dig came at the expense of Woods, who was arrested for driving under the influence back in March after rolling his car near his Jupiter Island home.
After congratulating NFL quarterback Caleb Williams for making it on the cover of popular football video game Madden, Hernandez added: ‘And Tiger Woods will be on the cover of Grand Theft Auto.’
‘I love you Tiger, I’m a big fan,’ he added live on ABC after getting laughs from the crowd. ‘It was just written so well.’
Woods pleaded not guilty after his crash earlier this year and he blew clear on a breathalyzer test, but the golf legend refused to give a urine sample and police found two hydrocodone pills in his pocket – a powerful painkiller.

He then checked into rehab in Switzerland for help in managing his medications and returned to the United States for good in June. His next hearing over the DUI case is scheduled for August 4.
Woods has since made a return to the public eye by appearing at a PGA Tour press conference in Connecticut in late June, supporting the tour’s new changes to the structure of its season from 2028.
Just like he was by Gillis last year, Belichick, 74, was also targeted by Hernandez over his controversial relationship with 25-year-old Jordon Hudson.
‘The Knicks won their first championship since 1973,’ he began before adding, ‘just to put into perspective how long ago that was, in 1973 hockey players didn’t wear helmets, basketball had no three-point line… and in 1973 Bill Belichick was the age his girlfriend is now.’
The legendary football coach has been regularly trolled over his age gap with Hudson ever since the controversial couple went public with their romance in 2024.
At the 2025 ESPYs, Gillis became the latest to make fun of their relationship as he first began a joke about MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani.
‘Shohei is a once in a generation talent. No one’s been able to do what he’s done at so many positions – pitcher, hitter, and bookie,’ the comedian said, referring to Ohtani’s former interpreter’s $17million betting scandal.

Are roast-style jokes at awards shows crossing the line or just part of celebrating sports culture?
He then set his sights firmly on Belichick and Hudson. ‘”Bookie” is what Bill Belichick reads to his girlfriend before bedtime,’ he added.
‘Not trashing Bill Belichick,’ Gillis went on. ‘He is 73 years old and dating a hot 24-year-old. People are criticizing him. What happened to this country? We used to be a great country. He won six Super Bowls. He is dating a hot 24-year-old. Maybe if you guys won six Super Bowls you wouldn’t be sitting next to a fat ugly dog wife.’
In the rest of his monologue, Hernandez also singled out the WNBA, Jake Paul, Jalen Brunson and American sports fans.
However, there was surprisingly no mention for Taylor Swift or Travis Kelce less than two weeks on from their high-profile wedding in New York City.
The ESPY Awards – which recognizes individual and team achievements in sport for each calendar year – is not always hosted by comedians, with iconic athletes Serena Williams and Steph Curry receiving the honor in recent years.
