Funding for agrifood and health tech innovation
Businesses innovating in agrifood and health tech can now apply for European funding through programmes run by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and its targeted Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs).
Support for agrifood innovation
EIT Food, one of EIT KICs, brings together businesses, researchers and startups to create sustainable food solutions from farm to fork. It is currently offering two funding opportunities for agrifood businesses.
Accelerator Network (FAN) call for 2026
FAN is a multi-hub accelerator programme for high-impact agrifood and foodtech startups seeking to validate their technology and accelerate their route to market. Successful applicants will join one of six themed hubs across Europe and compete for up to €50,000 per startup at the end of the programme.

Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) Advance call
This call will support up to ten female founders of agrifood startups that have already shown market traction and are ready to scale. Participants will take part in a cohort running from September to December 2026 and may compete for prizes of up to €20,000 at a final Demo Day to further accelerate business growth.

Support for health innovation
EIT Health, another EIT KIC, helps health tech innovators get funding and networks to test their ideas and improve patient care. It is also currently running two targeted calls.
Innovation Validation Call 2026
This call is for digital and artificial intelligence-powered medical technologies at Innovation Maturity Level 6 that are ready for clinical validation and market launch. EIT Health will fund up to 50% of total project costs, with grants of up to €850,000 per project to support pivotal clinical studies, regulatory approval and preparation for commercialisation.

New Models to Deliver Healthcare (NMDH) Call 2026
The NMDH call targets proven, market-ready health solutions at Innovation Maturity Level 8–9 that need support to achieve wider adoption in real healthcare systems. EIT Health will fund up to 50% of total project costs, with grants of up to €700,000 per project to help scale these solutions.
