Egypt need just a draw to guarantee progression as group winners and to reach the World Cup knockout stages for the very first time in their history.

Iran’s situation is more precarious. A win sends them through but a draw leaves their fate tied to what happens between New Zealand and Belgium.

If Belgium win that one, Iran finish third regardless. Defeat almost certainly ends their tournament.

Belgium, meanwhile, are not yet safe either. They advance automatically with a win over New Zealand, and can still win the group if Egypt fail to beat Iran and the tiebreakers fall their way.

Three of the four Group G matches have ended in draws, meaning all four sides could still reach the knockout stages ahead of tonight’s fixtures. Both games kick off at 11pm ET.
