A popular soap star has revealed that she has found love again at the age of 70 after meeting her new partner at a funeral.

Appearing on the Vanessa Feltz Show, Debbie Arnold, who played April Branning in EastEnders between 1995 to 1996, said: “I met this man and it was like boom, it was just unbelievable,” as the panel discussed finding love in unexpected places.

Arnold, who has also played regular characters on Coronation Street, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks, clarified that she “didn’t go to the funeral to pull anyone” but struck up a connection with the man sitting next to her.
