The Philadelphia Eagles clinched a spot in Super Bowl LIX by defeating the division rival Washington Commanders and had a parting message for their foes.
Philadelphia easily handled Washington 55-23 – scoring eight touchdowns en route to the conference title.
After the game ended, Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter was seen celebrating in the tunnel and sent a four-word message to Washington’s fans and players.
‘Sent y’all to Cancun,’ Carter said in a video captured by Brooks Kubena of The Athletic.
While ‘going to Cancun’ is a popular saying for a team eliminated from the playoffs, it could also be a swipe at Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels.
Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter mocked Commanders fans after winning the NFC title
He referenced ‘Cancun’ which could be a nod to something Washington QB Jayden Daniels signed on a jersey he swapped with a Detroit Lions player in last week’s NFC Divisional game

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Daniels swapped jerseys with Lions safety Terrion Arnold during the NFC Divisional round the week prior.
When exchanging uniforms, Daniels signed his jersey with the words ‘Cancun on 3! 1, 2, 3,’ as revealed by YouTuber Deestroying.
This time, Daniels was on the receiving end of a trip to Mexico after a solid performance in his first ever conference championship game.
He completed 29-of-48 passes for 255 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Daniels also ran the ball six times for 48 yards and a touchdown.
But the Eagles offense – led by running back Saquon Barkley – was just too overwhelming for the Commanders defense.
Barkley rushed for three touchdowns, Jalen Hurts passed for one and rushed for three, and backup running back Will Shipley also found the end zone.
Now, they’re off to the Super Bowl to take on the winner of the AFC title game between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs.
