Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion has been tapped to replace fired Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo in Philadelphia.
The 33-year-old Mannion is a former NFL backup quarterback who takes over an offense that is one year removed from a Super Bowl win, but coming off a disappointing season both on the ground and through the air.
‘My goal throughout this process was to operate with an open mind regarding the future of our offense to find the best fit for the Eagles,’ coach Nick Sirianni said in a press release. ‘Over the last few weeks, I had an opportunity to meet with a number of talented candidates and great offensive minds.
‘I am appreciative of the time I was able to spend with each of them. Some came with years of experience running an offense and calling plays. Others were young, sharp, and dynamic coaches on the rise. I felt it was important to be patient and thorough to allow the right fit to reveal himself to us. Sean did just that.’
Mannion has been an assistant in Green Bay for the last two seasons as quarterback Jordan Love developed into a solid passer.
A San Jose native who played collegiately at Oregon State, Mannion was a backup quarterback for the Rams and Vikings between 2015 and 2021. He also had a brief stint with the Seattle Seahawks.

Now-former Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was named head coach in New Orleans after last year’s Super Bowl win and replaced with Patullo, who faced considerable criticism in 2025.
Despite the returns of quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley and receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia’s offense finished 19th in scoring and just 24th in yardage – worse than all but two playoff teams.
And those offensive issues didn’t go anywhere in the Eagles’ 23-19 home defeat to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round.
Along the way, Patullo’s house was egged by angry fans, as seen in viral video taken at the $1.3 million property.
Later in December, a young Eagles fan went viral by telling Philadelphia’s ABC affiliate Patullo should be ‘flipping burgers at the local McDonald’s or something.’
The Eagles interviewed former Giants coach Brian Daboll for the offensive coordinator position, but he ultimately took the same role with Robert Saleh’s new coaching staff in Tennessee.
