When five-year-old Jaxon’s mum fell down the stairs, hitting her head and falling unconscious, he knew exactly what to do.
At home in Dudley with his three-year-old brother, he called 999 and asked for help. His mum, Stacey, had begun vomiting and had slurred speech after waking up.
Able to give out his address, officers who were first on the scene climbed over the back gate and started giving Stacey first aid, with paramedics arriving soon after.
Now, Jaxon has been awarded a chief constable’s young person’s award for his courage and bravery.
He was presented with the award by Chief Constable Jen Mattinson at West Midlands Police’s awards evening earlier in July.
Jaxon was also surprised at home by the Stourbridge Neighbourhood Team – who presented him with a bike his parents had bought him as a reward for getting his mum medical help.
