A driver is accused of stabbing another during a road rage argument over turn signals, according to a criminal complaint.

The victim told officers he was leaving North Beach in Racine,Wisconsin, with his girlfriend when another driver cut them off during the incident on April 23.

“Don’t you know how to use your f*****g turn signal,” the driver said, according to the complaint obtained by FOX6.

The victim later pulled up next to the same driver, identified as 28-year-old Chad Norton, who allegedly threatened: “I’m going to beat your a**.”

Both men are then said to have got out of their vehicles and the argument descended into violence.

The victim told police he asked Norton to “hop out” of his vehicle before throwing several punches in a fight that lasted a few seconds, FOX6 reported.

According to the complaint, the victim did not see a knife in Norton’s hand but realized he had been stabbed when he returned to the car.

Police said that the incident unfolded just before 7 p.m., with officers racing to Ascension All Saints Hospital after the victim drove himself to the facility.

Upon arriving, officers saw the victim had sustained several puncture wounds and lacerations to his chest and arm with his injuries requiring stitches.

Norton was observed making what appeared to be stabbing motions in a video provided to police, according to the complaint.

When taken into custody Norton told cops he did not remember brandishing a knife during the encounter adding that he was “trying to get him away from me”, the outlet added.

Norton has has been charged with aggravated battery and first-degree recklessly endangering safety, both with a dangerous weapon, according to online court records seen by The Independent.

The suspect’s bond was set at $5,000, and his preliminary hearing was set for Wednesday April 29. Norton could potentially face more than 15 years behind bars for the aggravated battery charge alone, if convicted.

The Independent has contacted the Racine County District Attorney’s Office for comment.
