Donald Trump has revealed he will not be attending the Super Bowl in San Francisco next month and has taken a shot at the anti-MAGA artists hired by the NFL to perform at the showpiece game.

Fierce Trump critic Bad Bunny is the polarizing choice to perform the prestigious halftime show while earlier in Janaury, the NFL announced another nemesis of the President, Green Day, would perform at the opening ceremony in Santa Clara.

Talking to the New York Post, Trump said: ‘I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.’

But Trump said if the game was being held closer to the White House, he would have definitely attended.

Trump, who attended the 2025 game in New Orleans, said: ‘It’s just too far away. I would. I’ve gotten great hands for the Super Bowl, they like me. I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.’

Bad Bunny had previously refused to perform in the United States over fears ICE would raid his shows.

Born in Purto Rico, the rapper has a huge Spanish-language following and made an exception to his own rule when approached on behalf of the NFL about playing the Super Bowl.

Green Day, meanwhile, have previously changed lyrics in their songs to underline their anti-MAGA stance.

The game is played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, home of the San Francisco 49ers, on Sunday February 8.
