It was a presidential proposal.
Donald Trump Jr. asked Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson to marry him over the weekend at Camp David.
Sources tell Page Six the couple jetted to the presidential retreat to celebrate Anderson’s 39th birthday on Friday, and Trump Jr. dropped to one knee on Saturday.
Camp David, in Catoctin Mountain Park in Maryland, has served as the location for history-making summits since World War II.
The proposal had been in the works for a while, we’re told.
“No one was surprised, but everyone is excited for the happy couple,” says another source.
Page Six exclusively broke the engagement news, with President Donald Trump later announcing it at a White House party.
“They get along very well and they are just announcing through me that they’re getting married,” said POTUS as he called them up to the podium. “Young love.”
The excitement extends beyond the commander-in-chief. Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump tell Page Six exclusively that they couldn’t be happier to welcome Anderson into the family.
“We’re all so excited for Don and Bettina as they start this new chapter together,” Ivanka tells us.
“I’m incredibly happy for both of them,” Eric told us. “Don and I have always been inseparable and I have a wonderful relationship and friendship with Bettina. They are fantastic together.”
“Bettina is over the moon. She is so f*cking happy,” says a source.
Trump Jr. and Anderson began their relationship last year, just as his engagement to former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle came to an end.
Don Jr. was previously married to Manhattan socialite Vanessa. They married at Mar-a-Lago in 2005 and share five children between the ages of 18 and nine. They divorced in 2018.
The Trump Org exec moved on with Guilfoyle. They got engaged in 2020, but split last December, around the time he was first publicly spotted with Anderson, the daughter of philanthropists Harry Loy Anderson Jr. and Inger Anderson.
Guilfoyle was named US Ambassador to Greece hours later.
“Kimberly and I will never stop caring for each other and will always keep a special bond,” Trump Jr. told Page Six exclusively at the time.
Anderson was then immediately brought into the fold, attending parties at Mar-a-Lago and attending Trump’s inauguration in January.
We exclusively reported that by the end of the month, they were living together.
