A doctor has urged parents to take their child to A&E if they notice this change.
Appearing on This Morning on Wednesday (13 May), Dr Ana explained how to spot an appendicitis from the normal run-of-the-mill tummy ache.
“It’s normally part of three things. They normally have fever, they vomit, and they have tummy pain,” she explained, adding that the pain will be particularly bad.
“ They cannot jump. They cannot hop. They cannot twist. They just wanna lie still and not be touched. So if you’re not sure whether to worry, get them to do a hop or a jump or a cough,” she said, saying you must take your child to get medical care if they are unable to.
