Rangers’ American takeover took a significant step towards completion when some of the main figures involved embarked on a tour of Ibrox on Tuesday.
A group of US investors are on the brink of buying a majority stake in the Govan club in a move which will also see fresh capital invested.
With sufficient existing shareholders having agreed in principle to sell their stakes, the businessmen are expected to conclude the takeover in the coming weeks.
American insurance firm owner Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe, the Leeds chairman and head of investment for the San Francisco 49ers, were shown around the stadium by Rangers chief executive Patrick Stewart.
They were joined by Elland Road technical director Gretar Steinsson and 49ers Enterprises director Raminder Dhadwal.
After months of speculation, Rangers broke cover last week to confirm that a deal was in the pipeline.

A statement read: ‘Rangers and its existing controlling shareholders are in productive conversations with the two lead members of the consortium, Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises Global Football Group, about the potential for the consortium to acquire control of the club and to inject additional capital.
‘These discussions reflect a shared recognition of the importance of Rangers FC’s long-term direction, ambitions and management.’
With Celtic continuing to dominate the landscape in Scottish football, Rangers supporters are hopeful that the fresh faces in the boardroom can help turn around their side’s fortunes on the field.
