With the San Antonio Spurs down 2-1 in the Western Conference Finals, they sought help from the heavens to right the ship and even the series.

Prior to tip off of Sunday’s crucial Game 4 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team was visited by a quartet of special guests: nuns.

The Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco were granted courtside access prior to the contest and watched along as the Spurs and Thunder warmed up.

At one point, Spurs center Luke Kornet approached the sisters and asked for a blessing via the laying on of hands.

Kornet, a raised Catholic, was then seen blessing himself with the sign of the cross before thanking the sisters.

Whether the sisters’ presence and blessings had any affect on the outcome or not, the Spurs got exactly what they needed on the night.

Spurs star Victor Wembanyama dropped 33 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and three blocks in a dominant 103-82 victory.

In a well rounded effort from San Antonio, Wembanyama was one of four players to hit double-digit points.

Guards Stephon Castle (13 points, three rebounds, six assists), Devin Vassell (12 points, six rebounds, three assists) and De’Aaron Fox (12 points, ten rebounds, five assists) all contributed key shooting in major minutes.

As for Kornet, he dropped six points and seven rebounds along with two blocks in 13 minutes of game time.

Oklahoma City was led by an underwhelming 19 point, four rebound and seven assist performance from star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

The Thunder shot 18 percent from 3-point range and committed 17 turnovers.

The series now returns to Oklahoma City with the Western Conference Finals tied at 2-2.
