The Council may choose
not to dispose of this asset, however as a utility provider require
this land to provide improved services to residents, there is no
reason to object.

Information:
That the Director of
Finance, in consultation with the Strategic Head of Asset
Management, be authorised to grant the disposal of land forming
32.5sq.m. at Halsteads Road, Torquay by way of private sale for
£3,000 exclusive of VAT.
The disposal
constitutes a small parcel of land adjacent to 19 Halsteads Road
with the land consisting of a grassed verge and rights of access
from the public highway. The land is to be sold to Wales and West
Utilities Ltd to install and operate a pressure reduction station
together with associated apparatus, building and pipework within a
secure fenced compound. The terms of the sale ensure Wales and West
Utilities Ltd form no nuisance or annoyance to neighbouring land
users and maintain boundaries adjoining Council land to a standard
that is acceptable to the Council.
