- DeMarcus Lawrence has signed a three-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks
DeMarcus Lawrence has signed a deal with the Seattle Seahawks that could be worth a total of up to $42million.
NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported the news on Monday as the offseason overhaul by Seattle coach Mike Macdonald continues.
A free agent prior to his signing with the Seahawks, Lawrence spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Dallas Cowboys.
During his time in Texas, he recorded 61.5 sacks as well as appearing in the Pro Bowl four times.
Lawrence had spent his whole pro career with the Cowboys after Dallas selected him 34th overall in the 2014 draft.
He will finally experience a new team at the veteran age of 32, having twice been franchise tagged by Dallas – who also handed him a five-year, $105million in 2019.

It continues the overhaul under Seattle coach Mike Macdonald so far this offseason
The moves comes amid a raft of upheaval in the Pacific Northwest, with the Seahawks having traded away quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders – where he will be reunited with former Seattle head coach Pete Carroll.
Seattle have seemingly moved quickly to find their replacement, as they are reportedly lining up a three-year deal with Sam Darnold worth $100.5million.
The 27-year-old quarterback enjoyed the finest season of his career as he led the Minnesota Vikings to the playoffs.
Darnold was linked with a number of teams ahead of the 2025 campaign, including the Las Vegas Raiders, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets.
But now, according to ESPN, Darnold is heading to Seattle to replace Geno Smith in a deal that includes $55m guaranteed.
It comes almost a year to the day since the quarterback joined the Vikings on a one-year deal worth $10million.
Should Darnold join up with Lawrence and Macdonald, he will be without former Seahawks star DK Metcalf, who agreed a $150million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers after requesting a trade.

The $150m contract is the largest in Steelers franchise history and sees Metcalf pair up with George Pickens in a frightening WR duo.
Next up, Pittsburgh will need to finish off their offense by deciding on a new quarterback, with current QB1 Russell Wilson heading into free agency.
Metcalf had been blasted by the Seahawks front office in recent days over his continued desire to leave the team.
General manager John Schneider hit out at the timing of the wide receiver’s trade request, just hours after the Seahawks announced they would cut fellow wideout Tyler Lockett.
