Darts star Sandro Eric Sosing has received a diagnosis after he pulled out of his World Championship match with chest pains.
The Filipino was forced to withdraw from his first round match against Ian White at Ally Pally and was rushed to the hospital.
Now, he has been officially diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS), a rare neurological disorder that occurs when the body’s immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system.
After experiencing numbness and muscle pain on Friday, Sosing was treated by medical staff at the arena and then transported to a hospital, where he is still undergoing treatment.
In a statement, PDC Darts said: ‘The Professional Darts Corporation can provide an update on the health of Sandro Eric Sosing, who withdrew before his first round match with Ian White at the World Darts Championship on Friday December 20.
‘Sosing had reported numbness and muscle pains while preparing for the game, and after assessment by on-site medical staff was taken to a local hospital for further tests.

‘He remains under medical care in hospital but hopes to be able to travel home soon.
‘Sandro would like to thank everyone who has enquired after his wellbeing for their well wishes and kind messages.’
Sosing won his first Asian Tour title in March and is ranked 225th in the world.
The 41-year-old qualified for darts’ showpiece tournament after coming second in the PDC Asian Championship.
His first-round withdrawal meant that number eight seed Stephen Bunting’s clash with Kai Gotthardt was pushed forward. The Englishman ended up overturning a one-set deficit to dispatch the German 3-1.
