Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has won the NFL’s 2026 ‘Good Guy Award’ – months after his fiancee and mother of his two kids left him days before they were due to wed over cheating allegations.
Prescott was given the honor this week by the PFWA (Professional Football Writers’ Association), who recognized him for his consistent media availability and for ‘helping pro football writers do their job’.
The timing, however, is striking for some fans of the Cowboys and the wider NFL given Prescott’s conduct off the field has been called into question in the last few months.
His fiancee and the mother of his two children, Sarah Jane Ramos, abruptly called off their lavish Lake Como wedding in March, five weeks before the April date, due to alleged cheating by the NFL star.
Ramos and Prescott, both 32, had just held their joint bachelor-bachelorette party in the Bahamas when the couple split up.
Ramos still shared pictures of the trip on Instagram – without Prescott featuring – and pointedly captioned the snaps: ‘I truly believe you can get through anything in life as long as you have really great friends. I love these girls so much.’

Earlier this year, Prescott split with fiance Sarah Jane Ramos amid alleged cheating claims
It then later emerged via Page Six that Ramos ‘believed Prescott had a history of communicating with other women during his relationship with her… but she stayed with him hoping he would clean up his act.’
The report added that they had held serious talks about Prescott’s behavior back in January.
But to the wider world, news of the split was still surprising – just weeks earlier, the couple had looked very much in love when they appeared at the NFL Honors in San Francisco during Super Bowl week.
They have two children together – Margaret, 2, and one-year-old Aurora. And last week, Ramos and Prescott reunited at a birthday party for Aurora.
The pictures came after TMZ reported Prescott attended a Pro Bull Riders event in Fort Worth, Texas, with Caitlin Rance – who was meant to be a bridesmaid for Ramos at her wedding to the NFL man.
Both parties have since insisted that they are not romantically involved.
The Cowboys announced Prescott’s media honor on social media and a few of their fans saw the irony in the timing, too.
One fan wrote: ‘Cowboy Fans want a Superbowl appearance. We don’t care about these foofoo awards. Secondly, didn’t he cheat on his fiancée with multiple women allegedly?!?!’

Another said: ‘Good guy award after cheating on his baby mom. Generational bum.’
A different fan commented: ‘Allegedly cheated on his fiance and mother of his kids but yea hes (sic) such a good guy.’
Prescott and the Cowboys are ramping up their preparation for the 2026 season over the coming weeks in June.
The Cowboys, who failed to reach the playoffs last season, begin the new campaign with a hugely anticipated Sunday Night Football showdown against the New York Giants on September 13.
Prescott is on a four-year, $240million deal with the Cowboys – who desperately hope he will lead them to a far more successful season this time around.
