Condover Bridge – which carries a C classified road (C5144/70) over the Cound Brook – will be closed from 3 to 10 August [2026] for repair work.
The work will include taking down and rebuilding the right end of the upstream parapet and general repointing following an road traffic collision.
To carry out the work safely it will be necessary to close the bridge to vehicular traffic. The closure will be in force 24/7.
When the road is closed, traffic will be diverted by a signed diversion route. For more information, please visit https://one.network/?tmi=GB45189094
Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the works, and access to frontages will be maintained up to the bridge closure.
The work will be carried out by Shropshire Council’s term maintenance contractor Kier, with supervision being provided by WSP on behalf of Shropshire Council.
Advance notice signs will be erected at the bridge and an information letter delivered to local properties.
