Speculation is intensifying over whether Phil Mickelson will miss the first men’s major of the year after the golf legend withdrew from his fourth consecutive event.

The 55-year-old has not played in a LIV Golf event this season due to a private family health matter, leaving his 2026 schedule in total disarray.

Mickelson previously announced he only anticipated missing the first two events of the season in Riyadh and Adelaide before returning to action.

However, the six-time major champion missed the most recent stop in Hong Kong and the HyFlyers will be without their captain again this week in Singapore.

No official announcement from LIV was made regarding Mickelson’s latest absence, fueling further questions about his status for the upcoming major season.

Australia’s Wade Ormsby was quietly listed as the fourth member of the HyFlyers to play alongside Michael La Sasso, Cameron Tringale and Brendan Steele.

Ollie Schniederjans originally filled in for Mickelson as a reserve in Riyadh whilst Ormsby teed up in Australia during the captain’s initial absence.

Now, the question on everyone’s lips is whether Mickelson will play in the first men’s major of the year at Augusta National.

The 2026 Masters begins on 9 April, leaving the three-time Green Jacket winner with a rapidly closing window to find his competitive form.

Last season, Mickelson made 12 starts with three top 10 finishes, showing flashes of the brilliance that defined his long career.

In the majors, however, he struggled significantly, missing three of four cuts with his best finish a T56 at The Open held at Royal Portrush.

Mickelson has teed up in The Masters on 33 occasions and remains one of the most successful players in the history of the tournament.

He has made the cut 28 times and won the coveted green jacket three times, with emotional victories in 2004, 2006, and 2010.
