Conan O’Brien spoke about being “dragged” into the scandal surrounding Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner’s murders in a new interview.

The comedian acknowledged to The Hollywood Reporter on Monday that the late couple were slain hours after attending his Christmas bash with son Nick, who has been accused of murdering the duo.

“Very simply, we had a party, we invited our really good friends and then, the next day, this terrible thing happened,” O’Brien told the outlet.

“Whatever difficulties my wife and I have experienced having our name attached to it are nothing compared to the scale of the tragedy for the family and the loss of Rob and Michele,” he continued.

The former “Conan” host noted, “If you’re a known person, your name is going to get dragged into things sometimes.”

However, he clarified, “It is not a hardship. There is only sadness that they’re gone.”

The Emmy winner previously broke his silence on the “awful” scandal in February to the New Yorker.

He reflected on the “experience of saying good night to somebody and having them leave and then find out the next day that they’re gone.”

O’Brien “was in shock for quite a while afterward.”

He and wife Liza Powel O’Brien were “close” to the Reiners, whom he praised as “lovely people,” and “seeing them a lot” prior to their Dec. 14 deaths.

The director and his wife were killed in their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14, dying at 78 and 70, respectively.

Since their middle child was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder — which he has pleaded not guilty to — Nick has been behind bars at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility.

The Daily Mail reported last week that attorney Kimberly Greene has been Nick’s only visitor in jail.

His siblings did not mention Nick in their emotional statement regarding Rob and Michele’s “horrific” deaths in December 2025.

“They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends,” Jake and Romy wrote at the time. “We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”

Although the pair have remained under the radar navigating their grief, they’ve repeatedly put on a united front while staying in Malibu, Calif.
