Ole Miss suffered yet another scandal on Sunday morning after two stars were charged with driving under the influence.

The Rebels have endured a nightmare fortnight which began on April 26, after offensive lineman Carius Curne was arrested in Arkansas on a slew of charges.

Things went from bad to worse on Sunday after quarterback Rees Wise and running back Damarius Yates were both arrested and booked into Lafayette County Jail.

According to reports, Wise, 18, was arrested by police officials in Oxford, Mississippi after being pulled over and charged with both DUI and reckless driving.

The freshman quarterback is in his first semester at Ole Miss, after signing as a three-star recruit as part of their 2026 recruiting class.

On the same day that Wise was arrested, Rebels running back Yates was also arrested on DUI charges, reckless driving and speeding, according to reports.

Yates, who hails from De Kalb, Mississippi, was ranked as the ninth best running back of the 2026 class before joining Ole Miss.

Both players have been bonded out. Ole Miss are yet to comment on the arrests.

The double arrest comes as a major blow for Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding, ahead of his first official season in charge.

The news also comes less than two weeks after offensive lineman and future NFL prospect Curne was arrested in Arkansas on a slew of charges.

The 6ft 5ins, 300lbs sophomore, 20, was arrested just after 5pm on April 26, according to the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office.

Curne, who recently transferred from LSU to Ole Miss, was subsequently charged with fleeing, reckless driving, speeding, improper lane change and possession of a Schedule VI substance of less than four ounces.

He was also hit with a misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia before being released just an hour and 39 minutes after he was booked.

Arkansas state law says that if Curne is convicted of the drug charge, he could face up to a year in prison, a fine of $2,500 and a six-month driver’s license suspension.

The offensive tackle, who was the No. 1-ranked recruit in Arkansas in the 2024 class, played in eight games for the Tigers last season.

His first start came at right tackle against Ole Miss on September 27 after teammate Weston Davis got injured before kickoff.

But rather than wait to see what role he’ll have at LSU under new coach Lane Kiffin, who left Ole Miss for Baton Rouge, Curne entered the transfer portal.

A number of teams were interested in adding Curne to their offensive lines but the Ole Miss Rebels won the race for his signature.

With elite athleticism, Curne is tipped for a promising career in the NFL in future.
