A preserved 1977 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I, having covered an astonishing 604 miles since new, is heading to auction.
This classic luxury car, retained by its original owner, accumulated most of its limited mileage in its first few months, according to H&H Classics.
The Silver Shadow I entered storage in 1993, having accumulated 590 miles. It was briefly used in 1998 for a family wedding, adding the final 14 miles to its current 604 total.
Since then, the Rolls-Royce has been meticulously kept in a climate-controlled garage, resting on axle stands to preserve its tyres and wheels. A tailored cover has also protected its paintwork.
The sale includes the car’s original book pack, initial sales invoice from dealer P.J Evans in Birmingham, and full MOT certificates, underscoring its unique history.

Paul Cheetham, senior motor car specialist at H&H Classics, said: “We’re thrilled to be auctioning this time warp Rolls-Royce, surely unrepeatable considering its mileage, ownership and originality.
“While Silver Shadows were built in relatively large numbers and have a high survival rate, we very much doubt that another will come to market that’s as good as this one.”
A description from the auction house reads: “We are pleased to be offering the car fresh from gentle recommissioning.
“In May 2026, the Shadow received a cleaned out fuel system and fitted a new fuel pump, filters and hoses, and replaced the battery. It was seen to start willingly and run very well during our photograph session, and we would might even go so far as to say it seemed as good as new.
“However, more thorough recommissioning will be required if it is to go back on the road.”

It adds: “A true museum-quality piece, this Shadow is fully deserving of a sympathetic owner who will continue to preserve it, and perhaps show it from time to time.
“We have no doubt that it will receive a very warm reception at Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club events, and it certainly has concours-winning potential.”
H&H Classics auction says the classic vehicle is accompanied by an estimate of between £70,000 and £90,000.
The Silver Shadow I will be available for viewing on 16 and 17 June before going under the hammer at the H&H Classics auction at 12pm on 17 June at Kelham Hall, Nottinghamshire.
