Clarkson’s Farm has released a trailer for its forthcoming fifth season, revealing that the new episodes will detail Jeremy Clarkson’s heart emergency.

The TV presenter, 66, revealed in October 2024 that he had undergone urgent heart surgery after being told that he was potentially days away from dying.

Clarkson was rushed to hospital, where his heart was fitted with a stent to clear his arteries.

A year and a half later, Clarkson’s Farm viewers will follow the host’s health scare in the new season, which is set to arrive on 3 June on Prime Video. Previous seasons of Clarkson’s Farm have focused on the presenter’s life as owner-operator of his own working farm in Diddly Squat, Chipping Norton.

A new trailer, released on Monday (18 May), showed Clarkson being treated in hospital, with various electrocardiogram (ECG) wires connected to his body.

He is then seen speaking to farm hand Kaleb Cooper after recovering, saying: “You’ve got three arteries that feed your heart to keep it pumping. My heart wasn’t getting any blood.”

Later in the trailer, Clarkson heads to the farmers’ protest in London in November that year, where thousands marched over changes to inheritance tax for farmers made in the Budget.

Speaking to his agricultural consultant Charlie Ireland, Clarkson said: “The doctor told me not to speak. Amazon’s told me not to speak.” However, that didn’t stop the ex-Top Gear presenter, who did in fact deliver a speech to the protesters.

Fans can also expect to watch Clarkson attempt to use a driverless tractor on his land, with Cooper fretting: “That’s basically taking my job.”

His concerns are seen to be premature, however, as the new piece of tech promptly breaks down. “That went well,” he adds.

Disaster strikes later on in the trailer, as Clarkson is told that his farm is being placed “under restrictions”. Last year, Clarkson revealed that he was forced to cull the first calf born on Diddly Squat following an outbreak of bovine tuberculosis.

“This was the first calf ever born on Diddly Squat,” Clakrson wrote, underneath a photo of the animal on Instagram back in October. “And this morning she was destroyed while pregnant with twins, because she has TB. So sad.”

Clarkson bought Diddly Squat Farm in 2008 as an investment, but began running it himself – with the help of various farming experts – in 2019. Two years later, the first series of Clarkson’s Farm was released, documenting his farming journey; the series proved to be one of Amazon Prime Video’s most successful projects.

In February this year, it was reported that Clarkson’s Farm had been renewed for a sixth series, with shooting having already begun.
