Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore has spent the night in hospital after the team called an ambulance for him in the wake of their win over the Washington Commanders on Monday.
It is as yet unclear why the 28-year-old needed medical attention, but while his teammates headed to the airport, he was instead en route to hospital for a ‘precautionary evaluation’.
Moore did not appear to suffer any obvious injuries during the game, in which he caught three passes for 42 yards against the Commanders.
It was reported by Pro Football Talk that wide receivers coach Antwaan Randle-El accompanied Moore in the ambulance from Northwest Stadium to the hospital.
The rest of the team, meanwhile, flew straight back to Chicago in the wake of their narrow win, taking them to 3-2 for the season.
USA Today reported that Moore was seen hobbling at one point during the game with an undisclosed injury, but he was never taken out and it remains a mystery why he needed to be hospitalized.

On Monday night, Chicago sealed an unlikely win over Jayden Daniels and the Commanders, surviving a late drive to get out with a 25-24 win.
Caleb Williams threw 17/29 for 252 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the result, the Bears remain rooted to the bottom of the NFC North, behind the Packers, Lions and Vikings.
