Groundhog Day
Has anybody seen Bill Murray?
Well, I think he may well be at Stamford Bridge this evening because it’s Groundhog Day for Tottenham. Spurs will be hoping that, unlike Murray’s character in the film, they don’t get stuck in this nightmare.
Tonight, they have the chance to end this bad dream they have been stuck in all season, and ensure their safety in the Premier League. Win tonight, and West Ham will go down.
Sounds like an easy job, right?
Well, not exactly. They are playing away at Chelsea, a place they famously have the most horrific time. It never ever goes well for Spurs at Stamford Bridge.
Yes, this Chelsea side may well be rubbish, but they are still good enough to put this pants Tottenham side to the sword. In fact, they would revel in making sure Spurs stayed in the relegation fight.
This fixture has produced some absolute classics over the years, and I have a sneaky feeling they are going to serve up yet another blockbuster battle at the bridge.
A huge night awaits, and I can’t wait.
