Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku is on the verge of leaving the club for Italian giants AC Milan, according to reports.
The French striker has endured a dismal two years as a Blue since signing from Leipzig in a £36million deal.
He struggled to ever cement himself a place in the starting eleven under either Mauricio Pochettino or Enzo Maresca and is now set for the exit door.
Chelsea and AC Milan officials have ‘verbally agreed’ a fee in the region of £30million plus add-ons for his transfer, according to reports, with Nkunku expected to put pen to paper on a five-year deal in the coming days.
It’s thought the 27-year-old has agreed to take a pay cut in order to seal a move to the Serie A, as reported by Italian outlet Gazzetta, and will earn around £4.3m per season.
The completion of the deal will see the Rossoneri at last end their pursuit of a No 9 after prime target Victor Boniface failed a medical and they missed out on Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez to the Saudi Pro League.

Nkunku is the latest player to leave Chelsea this summer following the exits of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Joao Felix, Noni Madueke, Armando Broja and more recently Carney Chukwuemeka.
After spending the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, Chukwuemeka sealed a permanent move to the Bundesliga this week after BVB officials agreed to pay the £24m Chelsea desired.
Blues youngster Aaron Anselmino is also headed for Dortmund on a season-long loan and has flown to Germany to complete the deal.
Nicolas Jackson looks the next star set for the exit door, with the Senegal striker reportedly reaching an agreement to join German champions Bayern Munich.
Jackson, who joined Chelsea from Villareal in 2023, is no longer thought to be in Enzo Maresca’s plans after the signings of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
Talks are said to be ongoing between Bayern and the forward’s camp over whether he will move on a temporary or permanent basis.
The Blues meanwhile are also keen to bolster their squad before the transfer window officially closes on September 1.
After weeks of negotiations, club officials have reportedly at last tonight reached an agreement with Manchester United for Alejandro Garnacho.

Having fallen out with Ruben Amorim, the Argentine has made it clear all summer that he ‘only wants Chelsea’ and has been left out of every Red Devils squad this season.
The two clubs have agreed on a £40m deal for Garnacho, with a 10 per cent sell-on clause, according to The Athletic.
The 21-year-old looks set to put pen to paper on a seven-year deal, with a medical scheduled tomorrow in London.
Chelsea are meanwhile also continuing their pursuit of Xavi Simons, though now face competition from Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs reportedly attempted to hijack a deal for the Dutch winger on Thursday having missed out on Eberechi Eze to Arsenal last week.
