Chelsea are refusing to match AC Milan’s asking price for goalkeeper Mike Maignan despite having signed Liam Delap in a cut-price deal.
The Blues will not pay the £25million fee which the Italian side have valued their goalkeeper at.
Chelsea believe that the French international, who has one year remaining of his contract, is worth nearer to £10m.
The 29-year-old is yet to sign a contract extension at AC Milan but no bid has been forthcoming.
Maignan moved to Italy four years ago after six seasons with Lille, where he won Ligue 1 in 2021.
He lifted the Serie A title with Milan in 2022 and the Supercoppa Italiana in 2024.

Chelsea already have five goalkeepers in their squad but none have convinced Blues fans as they prepare for a return to the Champions League next season.
Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic, Mike Penders and Kepa Arrizabalaga are all currently contracted at Stamford Bridge but they have not persuaded the Chelsea hierarchy against looking for another keeper this window.

Pedro would further boost Chelsea’s attack after they completed the signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich on a six-year deal on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old became Enzo Maresca’s second signing of the summer after they triggered his £30m release clause.

Delap scored 12 Premier League goals in 37 appearances after joining Ipswich from Man City
The two clubs came to an agreement over Delap last week, and after undergoing a medical he has put pen to paper on a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.
The striker had interest from Manchester United, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Everton, after an impressive first full season in the Premier League.
Delap scored 12 Premier League goals in 37 appearances after leaving Manchester City last summer.
Pep Guardiola’s side will receive 30 per cent of the fee as per their sell-on clause after the striker joined the Tractor Boys in 2024 on their long-awaited return to the top-flight.
