Chelsea spent almost double any other Premier League club on agents fees, shock figures have revealed.

A report released by the FA has disclosed that the west London outfit splashed out a staggering £65.1m on payments to representatives in the space of 12 months, which far outstrips the £38.4m of second highest spenders Aston Villa.

The detail may not come as a surprise to Chelsea’s fans given its substantial transfer activity under its US owners.

In total, top-flight clubs paid a record £460.3m to agents from February 2025 to February 2026.

Elsewhere, Manchester City spent £374m, Liverpool £33.9m and Manchester United £31.8m At the other end of the spectrum Burnley (£7.4m) were the lowest spenders, followed by Everton (£9.9m) and Sunderland (£10.6m).

Earlier today Chelsea announced a record pre-tax loss of £262.4m during the 2024-25 season, which is the biggest annual loss ever recorded in English football.

Chelsea have spent almost double any other Premier League club on agents fees

It far surpassed the previous record loss of £197.5m posted by City in 2010-11 as they sought to close the gap on the leading clubs following their Abu Dhabi takeover.

In February, a UEFA report put Chelsea’s losses for 2025 even higher at £355m, the biggest loss ever recorded by an English club.

As of last summer, Chelsea had spent around £1.5bn on transfers following the arrival of the new ownership group led by Americans Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, with some accusing the club of stockpiling young players.

They are currently in sixth place in the Premier League, 22 points behind leaders Arsenal.
