Enzo Fernandez has once again risked the wrath of Chelsea fans by revealing he’d like to live in Madrid.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Blues in a £108million move in 2023, first cast doubt over his Stamford Bridge future after the team’s Champions League exit to Paris Saint-Germain, insisting he does not know what will happen this summer.

He has been linked with big moves, including to PSG, Real Madrid and Saudi Arabian sides.

The Argentine then criticised Chelsea’s board for sacking former boss Enzo Maresca, claiming the Italian’s departure ‘hurt’ the squad in a thinly-veiled dig at new head coach Liam Rosenior.

And while on international duty with his country, Fernandez has once again hinted at a Chelsea exit.

In a livestream with Argentine channel SpiderCARP, he was asked which other city he would like to live in.

Fernandez replied: ‘Madrid…I like Madrid very much…it’s similar to Buenos Aires.’

That comment has not gone down well with Chelsea fans, who are seemingly growing tired of the midfielder’s public barbs at the club.

‘The World Cup cannot come fast enough,’ @TheBlueDodger said. ‘And if anyone doesn’t want to help carry the bricks, they have to go.’

‘Can this brother be gone already,’ added @sporrsdokitor. ‘I hate all these nonsense, Madrid should just pay up and take him off our hands please.’

Another fan called for Rosenior to stop playing Fernandez for the remainder of the season.

‘If I were Rosenior, I wouldn’t play him anymore,’ @retrodug said. ‘It’s okay for him to leave, but he is becoming toxic [and] it will rub onto the other players. Give the other players a chance to prove their worth.’

Fernandez signed an eight-and-a-half-year deal when he joined Chelsea, meaning his contract expires in 2032. The Blues, then, will be able to command a high fee for the midfielder.

His contract may deter Real Madrid given the Spaniards have sought to recruit stars whose contracts are expiring in recent seasons.
