NFL free agent Stefon Diggs has vehemently denied making a disgusting comment about ex-girlfriend Cardi B after a bogus quote went viral this week.
Diggs, who was recently cut by the Patriots, is believed to have split from Cardi in February, around the time he and New England lost the Super Bowl to the Seattle Seahawks.
The couple welcomed a baby boy together in November 2025 before going their separate ways just months later, with the relationship appearing to end acrimoniously.
In light of their split, an alleged screengrab of Diggs branding Cardi a ‘whore’ recently sparked controversy on social media.
In a post shared by South African website EntertainmentSA, the football player was accused of writing on his Instagram story: ‘The wrong decision I made recently… Falling in love with a whore with 3 kids. Brought bad luck to life, business, endorsements & partners. Stained my status.’
However, Diggs quickly rushed to the comments to blast the outlet and insist the quote is a fake one.

But the free agent wide receiver rushed to Instagram to claim the viral quote was a fake one
He said: ‘lol I would never say no goofy a** s*** like this. Nor would I speak on the mother of my kid like that, stop lying to the internet for clicks for your page disappear.’
Diggs’ Instagram did not show the alleged post as of Thursday evening.
His split from Cardi reportedly came a ‘few days’ before he suffered defeat at Super Bowl LX in San Francisco on February 8.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper, encouraged by friends, is said to have called it quits after Diggs alleged ‘betrayed her so many times.’
She first raised eyebrows when she delivered a frosty pregame message to the football star before the Super Bowl.
When approached by an ESPN reporter before kickoff and asked to share an ‘inspiring message to Stefon’, Cardi appeared unimpressed.
She smirked, paused, and offered a curt: ‘Good luck,’ before walking off without adding anything further.
After their split was confirmed, the ‘I Like It’ hitmaker piled on the misery for Diggs as she appeared to take an extremely public dig at him in March.

While onstage during her Little Miss Drama Tour, Cardi seemed to send a feisty message to the NFL player about ‘principle.’
‘It’s called the principle. You can’t be out here playing with a b**** like me. There’s n***** out here praying for a bitch like me. You hear me?’ Cardi could be heard shouting into her microphone in a video shared online.
‘I’m too sexy to be lonely and too grown to be played with,’ Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar, added.
‘You ain’t never had a bad bitch like this, n****. Never in your motherf***ing life! None of them b*****s ain’t f***n’ with me!’
