A man has been arrested after police uncovered a cannabis farm worth more than £1m.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the electricity supply at the property in Oldham had been bypassed as part of the “sophisticated setup”.
Officers forced entry to the building on Higginshaw Lane in Royton on Wednesday after receiving intelligence from members of the public, police said.
GMP said a man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.
The search was conducted as part of Operation Avro, which GMP said was a “force-wide monthly blitz” on local crime which ran in a different district each month.
“This is a great example of our neighbourhood officers acting on information from the public to keep our communities safe,” Insp Stuart Berry of GMP’s Oldham district, said.
