A Buffalo Bills fan went viral on Sunday after catching a Josh Allen pass in the stands and immediately sprinting for the exit, leaving social media baffled.
During the third quarter of their game against the Patriots, Bills quarterback Allen ran through to New England’s 10-yard line before throwing the ball wide of the end zone and into the stands.
His wayward throw then flew straight into the hands of one lucky spectator sat in the front row, who was wearing Buffalo linebacker Matt Milano’s No 58 jersey.
Yet instead of savoring his moment on live TV, the fan bizarrely turned around, ran straight up the stairs and headed out of the stands.
NBC commentator Mike Tirico clearly enjoyed the unusual moment as he jokingly called the action:
Tirico said: ‘He’s gone, Milano! Milano’s gonna go! He’s in row 10! He’s in row 15! He might get a beer! Milano where you going man? It’s your moment! Milano row 40, led by Allen, he’s gonna take it the distance!

The spectator left social media baffled after he sprinted out after catching Josh Allen’s throw
‘Maybe it wasn’t his seat, maybe he doesn’t wanna be on TV… he’s gone!’
A number of fans could not understand why ‘Milano’ was so keen to get out of there, with some even peddling theories about an NFL version of the infamous Coldplay Kiss Cam drama earlier this year.
However, the spectator in question likely made an immediate escape as NFL fans are usually asked to return footballs when they make their way into the crowd.
Unlike in Major League Baseball, the NFL typically wants balls to be returned given they are precious commodities, although fans are not forced to hand them back. It is also a much rarer occurrence than in baseball.
Nevertheless, the Bills supporter likely sprinted out with the prized possession to avoid being pressured to return it.
The NFL shared a clip of the hilarious moment on X and said: ‘The Bills fan in the Matt Milano jersey had his moment’.
One amused fan replied: ‘Dude is gone!!!! Nobody is taking this ball from me f*** you!!! His gone!!!’
Another posted: ‘This was the highlight of the game lol’.
‘He knew they were gonna try to take that thing back,’ said a third.
While a fourth put: ‘Funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time. Great job by Tirico with the play by play.’
