Brittany Mahomes is counting down to the new NFL season after celebrating her return to Arrowhead Stadium on Friday night.
The wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick returned to the stands to watch her husband in action in his team’s final preseason game of the year against Chicago Bears.
The Chiefs star played three drives as he honed his preparations for the first game of the season on September 5 against Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Before the game, an excited Brittany shared a selfie from her VIP suite in a red top captioned: ‘Feels good to be back in ARROWHEADDD’.
She also revealed on Instagram that she dressed Patrick for his pre-game arrival outfit. He rolled up to the game in a matching chequered shirt and shorts, along with a pair of white sunglasses.
Crucially for the Chiefs, Mahomes came through Friday’s game unscathed but still got some precious minutes on the field to brush away any cobwebs from the offseason.

The quarterback played three drives and looked good ahead of the 2025 NFL season
Speaking after the game, he told reporters: ‘I was super excited to get out there, especially at Arrowhead, and get some real reps.
‘I always talk about getting hit and stuff like that, but to get the feel for the pocket, the trust from those guys, and give guys chances to make plays downfield, it shows that all the hard work that we put in and training camp is paying off.
‘And this is a little step, but it’s a little step in the right direction. And so, we’re excited now to have two weeks to kind of prepare to play a really good defense in the Chargers. It was a good step today, and we’ll continue to build as we get ready for the regular season.’
The Chiefs lost Friday’s game 29-27 to the Bears with Mahomes throwing 143 yards for a touchdown in an encouraging performance during his short time on the field.
Perhaps most encouraging for Mahomes and the Chiefs on Friday was the performance of the left side of the offensive line which featured rookie Josh Simmons alongside Kingsley Suamataia.
It was a problem area throughout the 2024 campaign but so far, Mahomes is pleased with what he has witnessed.
‘I thought they stepped up and did a lot of great things,’ Mahomes said. ‘They have to continue to take steps in the right direction, and they’ve done that.
‘I’m excited for these guys to be challenged and then go out there and show who they are.’
The high-profile NFL couple are relishing the return of football, starting in September
It remains to be seen if Brittany will make the trip to Brazil for the opening Chiefs game but either way, the next time she’s at Arrowhead will be September 14 for a Super Bowl rematch against Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles humiliated the Chiefs in the showpiece game in New Orleans, blowing Mahomes and his team away in a 40-22 scoreline back in February.
The game was especially bruising for the Chiefs given they went into it on the brink of an historic Super Bowl three-peat. Instead, the scoreline flattered the Chiefs, given how much the Eagles dominated throughout.
