Don’t hold it against her.

Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander vehemently defended the pop star via Instagram on the heels of her DUI arrest.

The 44-year-old, who was married to Spears for 55 hours after a 2004 Sin City ceremony, urged social media users to “slow down” on discussing the singer’s detainment.

“If reports are accurate that she blew a .06, that’s below the legal [blood alcohol content] limit in most states,” he wrote, referencing California’s .08 percent limit.

While TMZ claimed Spears, also 44, has been telling people a blood draw determined her BAC was .06 percent, individuals can still be charged with driving under the influence if erratic behind the wheel.

Alexander continued, “If the only substances in her system were legally prescribed medications, that changes the narrative completely. At most, what’s being discussed right now could potentially amount to minor misdemeanor charges — things like reckless driving or simple possession if a substance was found in the car.”

Spears’ childhood friend shared concerns the narrative surrounding Spears’ run-in with the law will “spiral out of control.”

He wrote, “Rumors spread faster than facts, and suddenly someone is being judged before the truth is even clear. Britney Spears deserves the same thing anyone else does: facts, fairness and due process.”

Alexander requested his followers “let the facts come out.”

He re-posted the same statement to his Story — and advised Spears to “seriously rethink [her] entire management team, step away from the Hollywood circus and focus on what actually matters.”

Urging his ex to pursue “peace, privacy and God,” Alexander added, “Sometimes the healthiest move is to get away from the noise, sell the house, leave California and put distance between yourself and the people who profit off the chaos.”

The songwriter’s manager, Cade Hudson, told Page Six in a statement Wednesday that Spears’ behavior was “completely inexcusable,” with her arrest hopefully being “the first step in long overdue change.”

He wrote, “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law. … Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”

The “Crossroads” star was taken into custody after swerving “in and out” of lanes in Ventura County, Calif., according to 911 dispatch, and the California Highway Patrol told Page Six Spears was believed to be under the influence of a cocktail of drugs and alcohol.

The songwriter’s court date is scheduled for May 4.

She was released from Ventura County Jail on Thursday morning and has a court date scheduled for May 4.

Spears’ two other ex-husbands, Kevin Federline and Sam Asghari, have not reacted publicly to her arrest.
