Bristol City have signed Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek on loan for the season.
The 21-year-old joins the Championship club for the upcoming campaign with the Premier League club retaining the option of a January recall.
It follows a successful loan spell with Austrian Bundesliga club FC Blau-Weiss Linz last season in which he helped the club achieve their highest-ever league position.
Vitek, a Czech Republic U20 international, also had a loan spell with Accrington Stanley in 2024.
The mid-season break clause demonstrates how highly United rate the player who recently signed a new deal at Old Trafford until 2028.
But with Robins’ first-choice goalkeeper Max O’Leary facing up to four months out following ankle surgery, the prospect of regular action with City works for all parties.
City finished last term in sixth spot in England’s second tier, before losing out to Sheffield United in the play-offs.
They kick off the Championship season away to the Blades on Saturday, 9 August.
