Dan Hurley’s X-rated reaction to UConn’s March Madness loss to Florida was caught by a hot mic.
The UConn coach, whose team’s hopes of a three-peat were ended in the second round on Sunday, was heard ranting as he headed towards the locker room in Raleigh.
He directed his comments, seemingly about the officials, at Baylor. The Bears took on Duke in the next game in North Carolina.
‘I hope they don’t f*** you like they f***ed us. I hope they don’t do that to you, Baylor,’ Hurley could be heard saying.
The UConn coach then broke down during an interview following the 77-75 loss. Hurley was overcome with emotion as he discussed the team’s first loss in 14 NCAA tournament games.
‘(Florida) showed their quality. I thought we played with tremendous honor, I thought we played with the heart of a championship program – a program that’s gone back to back,’ he told CBS.
UConn coach Dan Hurley was overcome with emotion after the Huskies’ loss to Florida

‘I hope they don’t f*** you like they f***ed us,’ Hurley was heard telling the Baylor Bears
‘For a team to end what we really wanted to do, they were going to have to put us down. And obviously a worthy opponent like that, there’s honor in the way we went out.
When asked what his message was in the locker room post-game, he added: ‘I just love them.
‘This year has been a real battle – we’ve had to battle and battle and battle and at times I don’t think we liked each other a whole lot – with some of the things we had to go through together.
‘But I don’t think I’ll ever love a team more than how hard they fought for what we were trying to accomplish and for the honor they played with today.’
Hurley’s No 8 Huskies would have become the first men’s team to pull off a three-peat since UCLA’s run of seven straight titles in the 1960s and 70s had they gone all the way again in 2025.
Yet thanks to a sensational display from Florida and star guard Walter Clayton Jr., UCLA remains the only men’s team in history to achieve that feat.
Clayton Jr, a first-team All-America guard, put up 23 points, three rebounds and one assist in a stunning victory for the Gators at North Carolina’s PNC Arena.
The 22-year-old’s strong return included two crucial three-pointers in the final three minutes to dump the champion out.

UConn’s bid for a historic March Madness three-peat is over following a 75-70 defeat to Florida
Florida has advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2017 and will play Colorado State or Maryland in the West Region semifinals in San Francisco.
UConn won the 2023 title in Houston and last year in Glendale, Arizona, joining Duke (1991-92) and Florida (2006-07) as the only schools to win back-to-back since the Bruins’ run under John Wooden.
The Huskies’ defense stymied the Gators for most of the game, holding Florida to 35 percent shooting through the first 30 minutes to build a 52-46 lead.
But then Clayton Jr led the comeback for the top-seeded Gators.
