There has been a significant update following the July death of Vikings rookie Khyree Jackson, as the woman accused of causing a car wreck which killed him and two others has been arrested and charged.
According to the Office of the State’s Attorney for Maryland’s Prince George’s County, Cori Clingman has been charged with grossly negligent and criminally negligent vehicular manslaughter and vehicular manslaughter, as she is alleged to have been driving under the influence.
Jackson, 24, Isaiah Hazel, 23 and Anthony Lytton, Jr, 24 all died from the July 6 crash. Hazel and Lytton had been teammates with Jackson in high school.
Clingman is accused by police of speeding and hitting Jackson’s car as she was attempting to make a lane change – causing the the Vikings player’s Dodger Charger to go off the road and strike multiple tree stumps.
‘This was a horrific tragedy that should not have occurred,’ state attorney Aisha Braveboy said as she announced the update on Tuesday.
Clingman is also alleged to have collided with a third vehicle, though neither she nor the passengers in the third vehicle were injured.
