The Kansas City Chiefs survived a dramatic comeback by the Carolina Panthers to bounce back from last week’s loss to the Buffalo Bills.
The back-to-back Super Bowl champions led by 14 points shortly before half-time on Sunday, before Bryce Young led the 3-8 Panthers to 18 points in the second half.
After Chuba Hubbard tied the game with a one-yard touchdown run – and two-point conversion – the Chiefs had 1:46 to win the game.
Patrick Mahomes led Kansas City down the field with 33-yard scramble which took Travis Kelce and Co deep into Carolina territory.
The Chiefs reached the Panthers 13-yard line before giving backup kicker Spencer Shrader a chance to seal victory.
With two seconds on the clock, the 25-year-old made no mistake from 31 yards. The win means the Chiefs are now 10-1 for the season.
Andy Reid’s team saw their unbeaten run end last week, when they were beaten by the Buffalo Bills.
But the Super Bowl champions returned to winning ways in Charlotte.
