The start of the third one-day international at The Oval has been delayed after the West Indies team got stuck in heavy traffic en route to the game.
England’s players arrived on a mixture of Lime bikes and the underground from their hotel in High Street Kensington, nearly five miles away, after traffic-light issues caused havoc with traffic trying crossing the Thames.
But the West Indians, who are staying in Chelsea, remained on their coach and eventually arrived at the ground at 12.30pm, half an hour before the scheduled start. What should have been a 15-minute journey took them closer to two hours.
They arrived to find the pitch at The Oval under covers, with rain in the air and more forecast for later, though the intention was to hold the toss at 1.10pm, a full 40 minutes after it was originally scheduled.
England lead the three-match series 2-0.
