After watching his team collapse for a fourth time in the NBA Finals, a San Antonio Spurs fan watching Game 5 in New York City was ready to swing on any Knicks fans giving him a hard time.

Video captured after the Knicks clinched their first title since 1973 showed one brolic San Antonio fan in a Dennis Rodman jersey throwing wild punches and moving his way through a gathering crowd of New Yorkers.

The incident took place at the Moynihan Food Hall located inside Penn Station – directly adjacent to Madison Square Garden, where throngs of Knicks fans took to the streets in celebration after breaking a 53-year title drought.

It’s unclear what led to the start of the altercation as video begins with the fan approaching and taking a swing at a New York fan as a large crowd gathered around them.

The crowd parted and moved around the unidentified Spurs fan as he threw wild haymakers at multiple antagonizers. Multiple Knicks fans tried hitting the fighter from behind – including an attempt to kick him to the ground – which were unsuccessful.

Eventually, the New York Police Department stepped in and attempted to defuse the situation.

It quickly became clear that the Spurs fan’s temperament was not going to change – nor would the crowd cease their bragging.

Eventually, more officers arrived and helped to escort the Spurs fan away from the crowd.

The Spurs fan tried to break toward the throng of fans multiple times, but was convinced otherwise by police.

Police finally managed to get the fan to leave the building and used barricades held by multiple officers to prevent the crowd from following him out the door.

The fan was heard yelling, ‘Meet me outside’ in an attempt to fight further.

It’s not clear if the fan – or any members of the crowd – were charged with any crimes related to this incident.

The Daily Mail has reached out to the NYPD for more information on this incident.

All of San Antonio’s prior losses in this year’s NBA Finals came after the team held, then blew, double-digit leads. Saturday evening was no exception.

Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs led by 16 points in the second half of the game before allowing Jalen Brunson and the Knicks to come back.

Brunson scored 15 points in the fourth quarter alone to cap a 45-point evening to help the Knicks break their cold streak.

Knicks fans across the Five Boroughs celebrated the championship which ended a drought in the Big Four leagues which dated back to 2012 when the New York Giants won Super Bowl XLVI
