Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has revealed ‘conversations’ have taken place over Jamie Gittens’ future.
Chelsea remain keen on Gittens after a failed move before the Club World Cup, having chose not to go beyond a bid of £42million.
They had previously put in a £29.5m bid that was also knocked back by the Bundesliga outfit.
Dortmund Sporting director Kehl is confident the winger will remain ‘professional’ as speculation continues over his future in Germany.
‘We’ve had one or two conversations with Jamie in the last few days,’ Kehl said.
‘He’s professional enough to know he has to perform. That’s also in his nature. Jamie will still be very important for us in this tournament. We’ll see what happens after that.

Chesea chose not to go beyond a bid of £42million but remain interested in the winger

‘But I don’t have a negative opinion of him.’
The second transfer window is now open and Chelsea remain interested in Gittens, who is keen on the move.
However, it remains to be seen whether they are willing to match Dortumund’s £55m price tag on the former Manchester City winger.

Chelsea want to bring in a new winger to the club this summer after deciding to not sign Jadon Sancho permanently.
Sancho spent last season on loan at Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea paid a £5m fee to cancel their obligation to sign him permanently from Manchester United.
Enzo Maresca’s side have already strenghtned their attack this summer following the £30m signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich.
