Bonnie Tyler had to be resuscitated after going into cardiac arrest when doctors tried to bring her out of her induced coma, according to a report.

The “Total Eclipse of the Heart” crooner, 74, suffered a cardiac arrest Friday and remains in intensive care at an Algarve, Portugal, hospital, according to respected local outlet Correio da Manhã.

The Welsh star is also battling an infection which doctors are trying to control with high doses of antibiotics, according to the outlet.

But, her longtime pal Liberto Mealha told Correio da Manhã “the doctors are positive” regarding her recovery.

Tyler underwent emergency surgery on her appendix which reportedly ruptured, and she was put into an induced coma to “aid her recovery,” a statement from her manager last week said.

The singer felt unwell during a gig in London, England, and went to the doctors – but no symptoms were detected, according to Correio da Manhã.

She traveled to the Algarve, where she has owned a home for over 30 years, and started to suffer from severe abdominal pain.

Tyler was later transferred to a hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she had the surgery. She was rushed to the hospital on April 30.

The crooner, known for her raspy voice, is supposed to kick off her “Jubilee tour” on May 22 in Malta. That date is not mentioned on the tour dates section on her website.

She is set to perform across Germany, Czechia, Hungary, Turkey, Austria, Scotland, and England over the summer.

It has been 50 years since she released her debut single: “My! My! Honeycomb.”

Tyler was nominated for a Brit Award in 1977 following the release of her tracks “Lost in France” and “More Than a Lover” but her 1983 album “Faster Than the Speed of Night” helped skyrocketed her to global superstardom.

The album’s lead single was “Total Eclipse of the Heart” – a track which has been streamed more than one billion times on Spotify.

“I still get excited when I hear the song on the radio,” Tyler said of her hit song during an interview on “Good Morning America” in April 2024.

“Every time the eclipse comes, everyone all over the world plays ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart,’ and I never get tired of singing it,” she added.

The three-time Grammy nominee continued her massive success with “Holding Out for a Hero,” which she recorded in 1984 for the “Footloose” soundtrack.

Tyler has been performing professionally since age 17 in April 1969, and despite admitting she’s “slowed down” in recent years, she has refused to retire.

“I’ve slowed down a little bit, but I know now that I will never retire,” she told the Sunday Mirror’s Notebook magazine.

Last month, Tyler told Hello! magazine “I’m  fit enough at the moment, touch wood, and I’m really enjoying doing the shows.

“I’m still rocking on that stage with my wonderful band, and if you’ve got your health, you’ve got everything.”
