Bill Nighy has said age is too often mistaken for wisdom in a pointed swipe at world leaders.
Speaking to The Independent at the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards on Wednesday (18 March), the 75-year-old discussed his podcast Ill-advised, in which he offers opinions in the guise of an agony uncle.
Nighy said there is a common misconception that you get wiser with age. “The risk of getting to my age is that you are mistaken for somebody who knows what to do, and you can see how well that’s working out around the world.
“ Old men wondering about getting everything you know wrong,” he said.
