Bill Belichick’s college football experience has been nothing short of a disaster and new bombshell reports suggest that won’t be changing any time soon.
The legendary Patriots coach has suffered a humiliating start to life at the University of North Carolina – with the Tar Heels slumping to 2-3 for the season.
And they endured another miserable defeat on Saturday afternoon when they were destroyed 38-10 by the Clemson Tigers.
As a result of that loss, UNC fans made their most poignant statement yet against Belichick, as hundreds of them stormed out of the stadium before half-time.
One passionate UNC fan even conducted a TV interview where she described one of their defeats as ‘one of the saddest feelings I’ve had in University so far’.
Within just a few months, Belichick has lost the trust of the fans and, now, reports are suggesting that he’s also losing the locker room.

According to WRAL News, insiders claim the Tar Heels’ struggles can be put down to ‘a divided locker room, a disorganized coaching staff and a failure to communicate.’
Meanwhile, a parent of a current UNC star told the outlet: ‘It’s all starting at the top, and the boys are being affected.
‘I don’t fault the players; I fault the leadership that created this toxic environment. There’s an individualistic mindset. The boys are young, and they are feeding into it’.
Insiders told the outlet that a large reason for the divide stems from the team’s recruitment and, in particular, the preferential treatment that some stars get.
The outlet claim that some Belichick-recruited transfers are receiving ‘preferential parking’ and ‘more tickets for games’ compared to other teammates.
On Tuesday night, reports claimed that UNC had sacked cornerbacks coach Armond Hawkins over allegations that Belichick’s program awarded benefits to players.
The report claimed that among the alleged benefits were sideline passes given to a player’s family members – which violates NCAA rules.
Beyond the split in the locker room, sources have also suggested that a failure to communicate with players and parents has also lead to the divide.

Under previous head coach Mack Brown, parents of UNC players had a strong relationship with the coaching staff and had access to their phone numbers.
However, under Belichick, things are very different.
One source said: ‘There’s been no communication with coaches and parents, period. None, zero, zilch. Not one email from a coach, one text, phone call, nothing’.
UNC’s defensive coordinator – who is also Belichick’s son, Steve – has also come under fire for his lack of communication.
A source said: ‘He has not talked or had a conversation with most of the guys on defense. They don’t even have his number.’
There’s been no question as to whether Belichick is a great coach. Despite their struggles, multiple sources have vouched for his one-on-one coaching ability.
However, his ability to run the program is what’s caused concern.
‘Bill shuts people out. He’s limited in what he says,’ a source said.

Belichick’s critics have also commented on the growing influence of Jordon Hudson
Given Belichick’s tight-lipped nature, fans were thrilled to get an insight into his locker room speeches and pre-game talks in the Hulu docuseries which had been planned.
However, reports claimed over the weekend that the documentary has been scrapped in just the latest humiliation for former Patriots boss Belichick.
Back in August, it was confirmed that the Tar Heels would take part in the behind-the-scenes documentary, with cameras allowed at practice and in the locker room in Chapel Hill.
But after a disastrous start to the season reports emerged on Inside Carolina that the series was no longer going ahead.
Belichick’s tenure has been the subject of huge focus ever since he signed a five-year deal with the Tar Heels in December 2024.
It is the six-time Super Bowl winner’s first venture into college football, while his relationship with Jordon Hudson has resulted in a string of explosive reports.
Back in March, it emerged that the 73-year-old – and his 24-year-old girlfriend Hudson – failed to agree a deal with HBO for UNC to appear on Hard Knocks.
Reports at the time claimed that the project fell through in large part due to Hudson, who requested to be heavily involved in the series.

The former cheerleader identifies as the chief operating officer of Belichick Productions, according to emails to UNC officials.
Hudson has drawn the ire of college football fans in recent weeks for becoming a permanent feature at her 73-year-old boyfriend’s games this season as he has begun his tenure in college football.
The former cheerleader has sparked controversy with her overbearing presence after she was spotted giving Belichick a pep talk during one of her sideline patrols last month.
