The Hulu docuseries detailing Bill Belichick’s first season at UNC has reportedly been cancelled in another humiliation for the legendary coach.
Back in August, it was confirmed that the Tar Heels would take part in the behind-the-scenes documentary, with cameras allowed at practice and in the locker room in Chapel Hill.
But after a disastrous start to the season – with UNC 2-3 after several heavy defeats – reports emerged on Inside Carolina that the series was no longer going ahead.
North Carolina was beaten 48-14 by TCU in Belichick’s first game and that was followed by further one-sided losses to UCF (34-9) and Clemson (38-10).
Belichick’s tenure has been the subject of huge focus ever since he signed a five-year deal with the Tar Heels in December 2024. It is the six-time Super Bowl winner’s first venture into college football, while his relationship with Jordon Hudson has resulted in a string of explosive reports.
Back in March, it emerged that the 73-year-old – and his 24-year-old girlfriend Hudson – failed to agree a deal with HBO for UNC to appear on Hard Knocks.

Reports at the time claimed that the project fell through in large part due to Hudson, who requested to be heavily involved in the series.
The former cheerleader identifies as the chief operating officer of Belichick Productions, according to emails to UNC officials.
A few months later, however, Belichick informed his players that Hulu cameras would follow them all season, while the Tar Heels also shared an announcement on social media.
‘I’m excited to share with you that we will be doing that with EverWonder and Hulu that will showcase our football program,’ Belichick said in the video.
‘This is about the UNC football program. There’s obviously a lot of interest in it, and it will stream on Hulu later this fall. It’s gonna feature the players working hard, which you guys do. It’s about the players improving and getting better through their hard work, which you do.
‘And a program starting from where it started from several months ago to wherever it’s gonna do during the course of the season, which, of course, we determine on the field.
‘It’ll show our commitment to winning, it’ll show our commitment to the team, and that’s our priority.’
