Shane Gillis poked fun at a slew of sports stars during his ESPYs monologue on Wednesday night, and he certainly didn’t forget about Bill Belichick and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson.
Belichick, 73, and Hudson, 24, have frequently been in the headlines since their relationship was revealed last year, and Gillis became the latest to make fun of the pair’s age-gap relationship as he first began a joke about Shohei Ohtani.
‘Shohei is a once in a generation talent. No one’s been able to do what he’s done at so many positions – pitcher, hitter, and bookie,’ Gillis said, referring to his former interpreter’s $17million betting scandal.
He then set his sights firmly on Belichick and Hudson.
‘Bookie’ is what Bill Belichick reads to his girlfriend before bedtime,’ he continued, to rapturous laughter.
‘They do the ‘Very horny caterpillar,’ ‘The little engine that could but needed a pill first,’ and of course, ‘Good night boobs.’ That’s my favorite one.

‘Not trashing Bill Belichick,’ Gillis went on. ‘He is 73 years old and dating a hot 24-year-old. People are criticizing him. What happened to this country? We used to be a great country. He won six Super Bowls. He is dating a hot 24-year-old. Maybe if you guys won six Super Bowls you wouldn’t be sitting next to a fat ugly dog wife.’
Gillis then slightly backtracked as that harsh quip drew a stunned reaction from the crowd.
‘They let me do it. This is Disney. They allowed that… Yeah, we should’ve taken that out,’ he said. ‘I had doubts going into that. That didn’t work all week.’
The joke came after Snoop Dogg took aim at the couple during the NFL Honors in February, as he took aim at Hudson’s age.
On Wednesday, Gillis’ barbs extended far past the legendary football coach, as he also made jokes at the expense of Caitlin Clark, Simone Biles and even President Donald Trump.
Belichick and Hudson’s high-profile relationship – which at one point saw her interrupt Belichick’s now-infamous CBS interview – is also causing a ton of backlash from alumni, donors and even faculty at UNC,
Newly released emails obtained by the Daily Mail through a public records request exposed the internal uproar over what critics are calling a ‘disgrace’ and a ‘circus.’
In one message from late April, a furious donor wrote: ‘What a total embarrassment to UNC. I am withdrawing all my donations and future donations.’
Another, from a faculty member, slammed the $10 million, five-year deal handed to Belichick despite his lack of college coaching experience, and questioned how the university could afford it.

Hudson’s involvement with the 73-year-old coach has drawn controversy from the start
Perhaps the most eye-opening moment involving the couple came back in April when Belichick was interviewed on CBS Sunday Morning about the release of his new book.
In bizarre fashion, Hudson became the focus of the interview when she repeatedly derailed the interview and interrupted to shut down questions about how the pair met.
There was further controversy over a report that UNC had banned Hudson from their football facility, after she was spotted on the field during a team practice session .
That was later clarified by the team, who insisted they had not placed any ban on Hudson, nor planned to.
Of course, all of this off-field drama and media attention surrounding Belichick is the antithesis of the ‘Patriot Way’, business-first approach he preached while in New England.
He’ll look to put the headlines behind him when he takes charge of his first collegiate game against TCU on September 1.
