Coronation Street Beverley Callard broke down in tears as she revealed her I’m a Celebrity…South Africa exit was the start of her cancer battle.

The actress, 69, who is famous for her role as Liz McDonald on the ITV soap, was forced to quit I’m a Celebrity days before the final due to health reasons.

In a new video posted after her exit was aired on Monday (21 April), Beverley said: “I just watched my exit on I’m A Celeb and it made me cry all over again. Of course, I didn’t know then that I had cancer but I just knew that it was the last couple of days there that I hadn’t felt very well.”

She also revealed she had lost consciousness on the show, leading to the star’s departure.

In February, Beverley revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer and that she would be receiving further treatment.
