Missed the first day of Amazon Prime Day? Don’t panic. It’s only day two of the retailer’s four-day price-slashing summer extravaganza, and there are still thousands of discounts up for grabs, with even more dropping throughout the day. Running until Friday 26 June, you’ve still got plenty of time to save.
The Independent’s deal hunters and I are busy sifting through Amazon’s entire site to find the deals that are actually worth chucking into your basket. From Apple AirPods and Kindle ereaders to Dyson vacuums and yes, even fans and portable air conditioners – because we all need a cooldown bargain in this heat.
I’ve been covering Amazon Prime Day for close to a decade, and together with IndyBest’s resident deal hunter Alice Reynolds, we’ll be surfacing the very best offers on products tested by the IndyBest team, as well as deals from brands we know inside out. We’ll also be keeping a close eye on products’ price history, so you can shop with confidence knowing you’re getting an actual saving. Let’s go shopping.

Why trust IndyBest’s Prime Day recommendations?
Amazon slashes prices on thousands and thousands of products, but you shouldn’t believe every shiny red price tag you see. Not every discount deserves your money, which is where we come in. Our team of shopping experts track prices all year round. Collectively, we have covered more than a hundred sales events, from Prime Day to Black Friday to the Boxing Day sales, so we know when a deal is actually worth shouting about.
Just as importantly, we don’t recommend products at random. IndyBest’s experts spend the year testing everything from laptops and headphones to air fryers and vacuum cleaners. If you see a deal featured in our live blog, it’s because we’ve either reviewed the product ourselves or know and trust the brand behind it.

You can get £100 off the Ninja slushi
One of the tastiest ways to keep cool during the hot weather this week is by making slushies. For delicious milkshakes, cocktails and even beer slushes, the Ninja slushi is our top-rated machine.
When expert tester Alex David tested the Ninja slushi he said it made “some delicious drinks, and experimenting with it is a lot of fun.” “When I was buying ingredients, I caught myself daydreaming in the supermarket about slushy negronis or Guinness punch”
The downside? Its price tag. Thankfully, you can currently save 33 per cent at Amazon – and it’s not even an official Amazon Prime Day deal.

Save £40 on the Kindle Paperwhite this Prime Day
First up – a deal on my favourite Kindle ereader. And I’m not alone. Tech expert Thomas Deehan named the Kindle Paperwhite his top premium pick in our guide to the best ereaders, praising it as “the most luxurious way of experiencing Amazon’s library of ebooks”.
Thomas gave the Kindle Paperwhite five stars in his review, singling out the larger 7in display and adjustable warm light, which makes reading before bed much easier on the eyes. “As a new father who only has time to read during the early hours of the morning or when I’m settling into bed, the warm light on the Kindle Paperwhite is much appreciated,” he said.

Have your kitchen knives seen better days? Deputy IndyBest editor Sabrina Sahota’s favourite Ninja knife set has been slashed by £60 for Prime Day.
Ninja Foodi StaySharp knife block, 6-piece: Was £179.99, now £119.99, Amazon.co.uk
You get a chef’s knife, bread knife, slicing knife, utility knife, paring knife, scissors and a block with an integrated sharpener. In her review, Sabrina said Ninja’s knives “easily match the quality of pricier rivals”, praising the chef’s knife and utility knife for chopping veg, the paring knife for mincing garlic and the bread knife for slicing through crusty loaves. It rarely drops this low, so now’s a good time to sharpen up your kitchen setup.
